Norma Garrett Mullis, a cherished matriarch and beloved member of the community, passed away at Houston Healthcare in Perry, Georgia on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Born on May 23, 1935, in Thomaston, Georgia, she beautifully embraced life as a devoted homemaker, nurturing her family and creating a warm home filled with love.
As a member of the Baptist Faith, Norma lived her life with compassion and kindness, touching the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She had a deep love for her family and found joy in cooking, reading, traveling and appreciating the beauty of flowers. Her adventurous spirit was evident in her enjoyment of riding Jeeps in the mountains, where she created lasting memories with those she cherished. She loved bird watching, especially hummingbirds, traveling, fishing and spending time at the beach.
Norma will be lovingly remembered by her sons, David (Ann) Mullis, Merrill (Debra) Mullis, Leslie Mullis, and Garrett (Janice) Mullis; her daughter, Denice (Mac) McDaniel; her brother, Jimmy (Harriett) Garrett; and her sister, Patsy Hunt. Norma's legacy lives on through her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her love and memory in their hearts.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Merrill Mullis, Sr., who she dearly loved and missed.
Visitation for Norma Garrett Mullis will take place on February 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Clark Funeral Home located at 142 Commerce St, Hawkinsville, GA 31036. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, also at Clark Funeral Home, leading to her burial at Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens in Cochran, GA at 12:00 PM.
Norma Garrett Mullis's life was a testament to love, family, and faith. She leaves behind a treasure trove of memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.
