Born Wednesday, September 22, 1943 in New Britain, CT, he was the son of the late George Place, Sr. and the late Mable (Brown) Place.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley (Thomson) Place of Symsonia, KY, son, Geore Place, III of Oklahoma, daughters, Jackie Baughn (Donald) of Oklahoma, JoAnne Davis (Greg) of Symsonia, KY, brothers, David Place and Douglas Place, grandchildren, Wayne Baughn, Travis Baughn, Valaree Vinson, Chazee O'Toole, Nicholas Blanchard, George Place IV, and great-grandchildren, Cedar O'Toole, Joe O'Toole, Juniper O'Toole, and Romi Collado.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marilyn Place.
A visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025.
Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY has been entrusted with arrangements.
