George Pouleres Obituary
October 2, 1942 - July 25, 2025
George K. Pouleres, 82, of Linwood, NJ, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Kallemasia, Chios Greece, George was the loving son of the late Konstantinos and Evyenia (Fountas) Pouleres and the devoted husband of Vilma (Merced) Pouleres with whom he spent 63 blessed years with.
Upon graduation from High School, George joined the Greek Merchant Marines and Airforce, working for many years until he immigrated to the United States. He worked for various restaurants in New York until he moved to Atlantic City, NJ in 1970 and began KayVil Construction. George was the owner and operator of KayVil Construction along with his brother, John, and served the community of South Jersey right up until his passing. George was a member of AHEPA and a devoted member of Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Atlantic City. George enjoyed beach fishing, deep-sea fishing and hunting but absolutely loved playing soccer and spending time with his family.
George will be missed and fondly remembered by the love of his life, Vilma Pouleres; daughters, Evyenia (Constantine) Economides, Maria (Rick) Casagrande; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Joanne Pouleres; sisters, Stella Vroulis, Argiro Kounis; and a brother, John (Katherine) Pouleres. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his sons, Konstantinos Pouleres and Pablo Pouleres.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend George's Funeral Service on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 13 South Mount Vernon Ave., Atlantic City, NJ 08401. A viewing will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's memory to St. Nicholas Church.
