George Wayne Pyne, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, in Dublin, Ohio. Born on November 10, 1937, in Galena, Ohio, George’s life was a tapestry woven with kindness, laughter, and a love for family that left an indelible imprint on all who knew him.
A proud truck driver for Yellow Freight Trucking Company, George dedicated himself to his career and was a cherished member of the Teamsters Union. His commitment to hard work was matched only by his joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed camping and fishing in his younger years and was a fervent fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and the Ohio State Buckeyes. However, it was within the warmth of his family that George's spirit truly thrived.
Everyone who had the privilege to know George often remarked on his generous nature, quick wit, and the joyful laughter that always seemed to follow him. He was a jokester at heart, known for his humorous nature that kept those around him entertained. His gentle soul, combined with his big heart, made every moment spent with him feel special. He was content with the beauty of life’s simplest moments, finding great joy simply in being present with his loved ones.
George is survived by his loving wife, Janet, with whom he shared 18 wonderful years of marriage. Three daughters—Kim (Dave) Fulk, Tina (Jim) Brennan, Kelly Pyne—and three more daughters—Tamara (Dana) Lutz, Tonya (Tommy) Porter—along with his son, Todd Pentello, and sister, Sylvia Myer, cherish his memory and continue to honor the values and love he imparted. His family extends to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives who were touched by his generous spirit.
Though George is preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Oletha (Huff), and eight siblings, the legacy of love and laughter he has left behind will forever resonate in the hearts of those who cherished him.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life during a visitation at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest in Powell, Ohio, on September 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A graveside service will follow at Blendon Central Cemetery in Westerville, where his memory will be honored at 1:30 PM.
George Wayne Pyne's life was a gift that will continue to give; those who knew him will forever carry his spirit in their hearts. The world is a better place for having known him, and his family finds solace in the legacy of love he leaves behind.
