George Santiago, of North Brunswick, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018. He was 47. Born in New Brunswick, he was raised in Highland Park. He lived in New Brunswick before moving to North Brunswick 14 years ago. George served in the United States Army, 2nd infantry division. He was stationed in Camp Humphries, South Korea. He most recently was a mail carrier for the Edison Post Office. Previously he had served as a police officer for the city of New Brunswick. George was very active his daughters softball teams and had coached for the North Brunswick Baseball Softball Association. He enjoyed fishing and spending time at the shore with early morning crabbing trips. George was an avid Yankee and Cowboys fan. He's predeceased by his wife Diane Marie (Faust) Santiago (d. 2013). Surviving are his daughters Morgan Taylor and Amelia Marie Santiago; his mother Aida Santiago of Boynton Beach, FL; his sister and brother-in-law Iveliz and Michael Fetsko of Monmouth Junction; his older brother Carlos Santiago of New Brunswick; and 2 nieces, Ariana Marie and his goddaughter Alessandra Lynn. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 14th, 10:00 am at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, 170 N Main St-at Riva Avenue, Milltown. Burial will follow at Brig General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Park in Wrightstown. Friends and relatives may call on Tuesday, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Santiago Sisters in Need, www.gofundme.com . You may sign the obituary condolence "guestbook" at www.crabiel.com
