George F. Schneider Jr., age 81, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. Born on July 1, 1944, and raised in Cincinnati’s Price Hill neighborhood, George remained loyal to his roots as a hardworking West Sider throughout his life. He was a rambunctious child that grew up surrounded by his cousins and extended family, and braved the Glenway hill regularly on foot to watch the Reds play at Crosley Field. He was a proud graduate of Elder High School, Class of 1962 and a longtime and dedicated member of Local 392, where he worked tirelessly as a skilled pipefitter. George was a man who lived by principle: do it the right way, every time and always measure four times before cutting once. Whether building in his workshop or guiding someone through a home project, he taught by example: measure carefully, don’t rush, and give generously of your time. He had a gift for storytelling, bringing ordinary moments to life with vivid details and his signature sense of humor. George always made you feel like you mattered. He had a big voice, a bigger laugh, and a heart that didn’t know how to say no when someone needed help. More than anything, George was devoted to the people he loved. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Kaulig); the proud father of Kristin (Sean) Smith and Lindsey (Kael) Vanderkolk; and the adoring grandfather of Connor, Amelia, Max, and Emma - the brightest lights in his world. He is also survived by his loving sister, Betty Ann (Schneider) and brother-in-law, Michael Scully. He was the cherished son of the late George and Betty Schneider. George had a way of showing up for others - whether offering advice on a project or lending a listening ear. He did everything with care, patience, and a whole lot of heart. His bright spirit and booming personality will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation at MEYER FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Bridgetown Rd., on SATURDAY from 9:00 AM until time of Blessing Service at 11:00 AM.
