Although I never had the pleasure of meeting George, I am sorry for his passing. His wife Francis was one of my dearest classmates from Schuylkill Valley High. I haven´t seen Francis for years but do feel for her loss. Many blessings in the future.

George and I taught, coached basketball, attended races, watched many sporting events, but most of all laughed together. That laughter stopped when George was struggling through his illness
George always took on the challenge of teaching all the average and sometimes rowdy students but he was no average teacher. Many times I was told by students he was their favorite teacher, not because he was easy, but because he was able to connect with them and challenge them to become better individuals and isn´t that the ultimate compliment you can get from a student?
To Fran and Greg my deepest sympathy.Take relief in knowing that George is at rest now, or possibly formulating another basketball team in heaven with Chris as his point guard. Will never forget him
George was a good man !

Mrs.Stofko, Greg and Family,
Our hearts are heavy tonight after hearing about both George and Christopher. I left Oley in 2015 but remember Christopher playing sports with my eldest son at the OVYL back in the early 90´s and George....I only remember from Bella Italia. Until tonight I never knew he was my youngest son´s teacher. Although we are in Florida now, please find comfort knowing many people tonight near and far are mourning with you and for your family.

Offering my condolences to the family. Mr. Stofco, and I ALWAYS spelled it wrong to irk him, was my favorite teacher. I adored him. I'll never forget him and how he encouraged me to write and succeed.
