Mr. George Carlton Strickland, 82, of Autryville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Reverend Bryan Strickland officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park in Clinton.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, August 4, 2025 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.
Mr. Strickland was a native of Sampson County, the son of Ivey Anson Strickland and Lenore Alease Lewis Strickland. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris Horne Strickland; two brothers, Dixon Strickland and Johnny Wayne Strickland; and three sisters, Faye Strickland, Gray Byrd, and Carolyn Strickland.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews, Ann Strickland, Jennie House, Janet Mote, Margie Pope, and Waylon Strickland; and several great nieces and nephews.
