George Addison Sutton, 82 passed away peacefully Nov. 19, 2024 at his home in Leicester. George was born in Witherbee, NY February 26, 1942 the son of Fred and Gladys (Pinkerton) Sutton. He resided in Dannemora & Lyon Mt, where he received his early education.
He has been a resident of Leicester since 1987 moving here from Hubbardton where he had lived since 1970. He served in the Army National Guard for 6 years.
He began his working career as a Welder. He had worked for the State of Vermont as a Custodian. He retired in 2005
He loves real country music, like the kind he used to hear on the radio across the Appalachians on WWVA from Wheeling West Virginia. His greatest love was Making music, singing, and playing, he had played Guitar at the Grand Ole Opera in Nashville, and had played with Billy Ray Cyrus.
He Wrote and Produced Country Man's Dream a "Tribute to the Stars of the Grand Ole Opera"
He was a past member of the Hubbardton Fire Dept. and a member of Bristol American Legion.
Surviving are his two daughters, Peggy Sue Sutton of Leicester, and Mary Ann Mattison of Rutland. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Nov. 25, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Leicester Church of the Nazarene, Pastor Michael Vincent will officiate. Following the ceremony the family will receive friends in the church hall, for a time of remembrance.
Private graveside committal services and burial will take place, at Brookside Cemetery, Leicester.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Sunday Nov. 24th from 1-3 PM at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home, 26 Franklin St. Brandon, VT
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Leicester Church of the Nazarene, 39 Windy Knoll Lane, Leicester, VT 05733
Arrangements are by Miller & Ketcham of Brandon.
