Loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother passed away suddenly in Bay County on Friday, September 1st, 2023, at the age of 75. George was born on October 8th, 1947, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Walter and Mary (Walker) Thomas, and was a 1965 graduate of Saginaw High School. He worked as a supply agent for Standard Electric Company, retiring after 48 years of dedicated service. George was a devote Christian and member of Christian Celebration Center in Midland where he shared his faith and the Word of God with his family, friends, and fellow parishioners. An outdoorsman at heart, George spent his free time hunting, fishing, and maintaining the landscaping of his yard, as well as collecting sports memorabilia and playing pool. He is remembered as being a generous, hardworking, and loving man that cared about his family and held them close to his heart.
George is survived by children Julie (Mike) Fachting, Rebecca (David) Murray, and Timothy Thomas; grandchildren Brian (Allison) Bowen, Meghan Bowen, Evan Murray, and Alex Murray; great granddaughter Everly Bowen; and siblings Carol (Ted) Mikula, Don Thomas, and Hal Thomas; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, friends, and his best friend Jim Kasper, who was like a brother to him.
