George W. Thompson, Jr., 75, a well-known local business owner, of Garnet Valley passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at his home. He was a lifelong resident of Concord Twp. and a 1967 graduate of Garnet Valley High School.
Following high school, George proudly served our nation in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne during the Vietnam Era participating in combat.
Upon returning home from the military George established George's Kitchens, Inc. in 1973, which evolved into a company that specializes in designing, manufacturing, and installing high quality custom cabinetry. His keen attention to detail and craftsmanship paved the way to the success of his business and the legacy that continues with his children who now operate what he first started. He was also part owner of Gi-Gi Golf with his lifelong friend Gary Ingram, allowing him to pursue a business surrounding one of his favorite passions.
Outside of work, George enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake in Maryland, skiing, snowmobiling, golfing, caring meticulously for his lawn and his time on his John Deere tractors. He cherished the time spent with his beloved wife, children and his grandchildren who endearingly called him "Jack"!
He was the son of the late George W. Thompson, Sr. and Dorothy (Vernon) Thompson.
Survivors: His beloved wife of 53 years: Linda (Lincoln) Thompson, three children: George, Quincy (Chrissy), and Jamie Franzini (John), two siblings: Frank Thompson and William Thompson, and four grandchildren: Justin (Kaleigh), Ashlyn, Gus, and JJ.
Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in George's honor to the Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 N. 3rd St., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19123.
