George Walker Obituary

George Walker
07/28/1936 - 11/12/2025
After a brief bout with cancer, George E. Walker Jr. passed away peacefully at home in Spring, Texas on November 12, 2025 with his daughters at his side.
George was born in Hood River, OR, and spent his formative years in Seattle.
He participated in the ROTC program while attending the Univ. of Washington, and it was there that he met his wife and lifelong partner Susan at a dance. Following graduation George joined the Navy and was stationed in Honolulu, where he and Susan started their family.
After Honolulu, they returned to Seattle, and George, intermingling his studies with stints at Boeing and with the Navy, completed a PhD. in Mechanical Engineering, which lead to the family relocating to Houston (and briefly to L.A.) for his career as a pipeline engineer with Shell Oil.
George's favorite pastimes were being with his family, working on cars, fixing things that needed fixing, using his ham radio, and building, operating, and buying computers.
He had a sparkle in his eye and a great sense of humor. He was an involved and affectionate father and grandfather, and had an enviable bond with his wife .
George is survived by his wife Sue, two daughters Debbie (Paul) and Terri, and four grandchildren Matthew, Adam, Amy and Natalie.
