George Williams Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
George was born to the late Joseph and Valerie Dartez Williams. He was known to be a hard worker and found joy farming, fixing appliances and farming equipment; never truly retiring. But his greatest joy was spending time with his grand and great grandchildren teaching them farming during the summers. He provided opportunities for them to save money for college by selling the crops they farmed together. The memories and life lessons they learned during those summers will forever remain with them for generations to come. His words of wisdom and straightforward conversation will be missed by all.
He is survived by his four sons, Leroy Williams, Sr. of Cecilia, Curley Williams of Cecilia, Darry (Magdalena) Williams of Arnaudville, and Jack (Ocilla Rush) Williams of Cecilia; three daughters, Dianna (Everette) Ledet of Cecilia, Nicole (Ricardo, Sr.) Seraile of Opelousas, and Michelle Williams of Carencro; four sisters, Kathleen (William) Chevalier, Adeline Chevalier and Madeline (Ronald) Gordon of Arnaudville, LA and Hilda Gordon of Cecilia, LA; three brothers, Joseph (Rita) Williams, and Thomas Williams, all of Cecilia, LA and Lee Allen Williams of Lafayette, LA; twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and a host of nices, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Valerie and Joseph Williams; his loving wife, Mary Louis Williams; two children, Shirley Ann Alexander and Larry Williams; three brothers, Wilson Williams, Morris Williams, and Wilson Williams; one sister, Wilda Gordon.
