Gloria Ann Dugas was born on July 4, 1952, to Ruby Genevieve McZeal and Clarence J. Dugas. She was called home by our Lord on November 19, 2025, at 1:30 AM.

Gloria was a native of Rayne, Louisiana, and moved to Lafayette at the age of eight with her family. She graduated from Lafayette High School in 1971. Before her illness, she served as a cashier at Heymann Grocery Store and worked as an aide in the nursery at the former Charity Hospital. For 15 years, she lovingly cared for her mother during a lengthy illness. A devoted member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, she was also an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. Gloria's life revolved around her faith and the love she had for her daughter, whom she cherished deeply.

Throughout her illness, she received loving care from her daughter, Melissa Dugas. Gloria leaves behind to cherish her memories her ex-husband, Chester Paul DeRousselle; one granddaughter, Nakayla Dugas; and one great granddaughter, Zuri Burkhalter. She is also survived by her two brothers, Richard (Carlene) Dugas and Raymond (Laura) Dugas.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred McZeal and Mary Crouchet; her parents, Ruby Genevieve McZeal and Clarence J. Dugas; and two sisters, Regina Prejean and Delores McConnell.
