George Larry Wiseman Sr.

George Larry Wiseman, Sr., 77, of Guilford County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025. Born on December 29, 1947, in Guilford County, George spent the majority of his life in the area he called home, surrounded by family, faith, and the familiar comforts of a life well lived.
George was preceded in death by his parents, George L. Wiseman and Mildred Groce Wiseman; his beloved daughter, Frances Richards; and his three sisters, Collie Byrd, Zola Rosenburg, and Nancy Garrison.
He is survived by his devoted son, Larry Wiseman, Jr. and wife Melinda of Eden, NC; his brother, John Wiseman and wife Tammy of Thomasville, NC; four cherished grandchildren; and three adored great-grandchildren.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, George served his country with honor and continued to embody the values of service and dedication throughout his life. A faithful member of Green Street Baptist Church in High Point, George found strength and community in his faith.
Known for his love of classic Westerns-especially those starring John Wayne-George found joy in the simplicity of a good film and the timeless values they often portrayed. But above all, his greatest happiness came from being with his family. Whether it was a quiet moment with his grandchildren or a lively family gathering, George treasured the time he spent with those he loved.
His warmth, quiet strength, and deep love for his family will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
A service to honor George's life will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
