George E. Wisnowski, age 62, a longtime resident of Westford, died unexpectedly doing what he loved, spending time with his trainer at the gym on Thursday September 7, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Dawna A. (Kaefer) Wisnowski, to whom he was married for 37 years.
Born in Lowell on July 24, 1961, a son of Doris A. (Allen) Wisnowski of Westford MA and the late William W. Wisnowski, Sr. He was a graduate of Westford Academy.
George began his career in the software industry working for Raytheon following high school. In 1984 he went on to work as the lead technical illustrator for the Digital Equipment Company, which became Hewlett Packard, where he worked his way up to principal designer and media developer. When he left Hewlett Packard, he worked as the principal visual design consultant for XCube Communications and was currently a 3D modeling specialist and virtual world developer for Doron Precision Systems.
Since childhood, he was an extremely talented artist and excelled in watercolor and oil painting. Some of his favorite subjects to paint included gardens, pets, people and landscapes. In 2016 he painted a series of New England barns and in 2017 he was the featured artist at the Parish Center for the Arts in Westford. He also carried on the legacy of his father with silversmithing.
George enjoyed traveling with his wife and family throughout the world including, Paris, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Bermuda and the Caribbean. He used much of his time on these trips to paint local scenery and landscapes.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed keeping himself physically fit by swimming and completing his training routine 4 to 5 times a week. He was also proud to have achieved his 3rd degree black belt.
With all his activities, George was happiest when he was making people laugh. George had a keen sense of humor and was a master of the quip, he would make you laugh until you cried. He'd recount experiences in such a way that would have the listeners gasping for breath and holding their aching ribs. We will all miss this lightness that he brought to our lives.
In addition to his wife and mother, George is survived by his children, Nicole Galway and her husband Brendan of Alexandria, VA, Amelia Carrell and her husband Chance of Phoenix, AZ, Brian Wisnowski and his wife Carolyn of Shirley, MA, Heather Paradis and her husband Kevin of Westford, MA, and he loved being Papa to Rory; nine grandchildren, Jack and Ryan Galway, Claire, Brycen, Anna and Nora Carrell, Myles and Charlotte Wisnowski and Dax Paradis; two sisters, Bonnie Arpin and her husband Bob of Francistown, NH and Janet Rodrigues and her husband Dan of Summerfield, FL; his father-in-law, Robert Kaefer of Bunell, FL; his mother-in-law, Marge Kaefer of Nashua, NH; his brother-in-law, Kenneth Kaefer of Bunell, FL; his sisters-in-law, Cynthia Kaefer of Nashua, NH, Debbie Waters of Litchfield, NH and Lyn Hottes of Danbury, CT; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

September 11, 2023

I remember fishing with George and his father and having such a wonderful time with both of them. We caught a few fish, had a cocktail or two, and just enjoyed each others company. It was a wonderful day and beautiful memory I'll keep with me forever.

I love you and miss you George! We'll see each other again someday.
