Georgetta Marie Baird

Georgetta Marie (Story) Baird, 85, of Marlette, formerly of Yale, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Sanilac Medical Care Facility.

Georgetta was born on February 29, 1940 in Cheboygan to the late James Hershell and Clara Marie (Duran) Story. She was married on February 7, 1956 to Paul Joe Baird Sr. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1987. Georgetta graduated from Hallmark University with an Associate's Degree. She worked as a programmer at Intel from 1982 until 1989, after which she took up a job at Philips Semiconductor, where she worked until 2002.

Georgetta loved going to family gatherings, playing cards or Yahtzee, and camping. She was an avid shopper, and enjoyed going to the Chinese buffet. Georgetta had a deep love for her dogs and birds. Above all, however, was the love that she had for her family.

Georgetta is survived by her children: William David (Kay) Stephen, Sharry Ann (Barry) Brown, Diane Marie (Harry) Tice, Joane Lucille (John) McDonald, Michael Edward Baird, Kimberly Jean (Jerry) Dudley, Paul Joe (Sonnita) Baird Jr., James Lawrence Baird, Bryan Lee (Stephanie) Baird, Rebecca Susan Baird, and Jonathan Wayne (May) Baird; 42 grandchildren; many, many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren, and many great-great-great-grandchildren.

Georgetta was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Joe Baird Sr.; children Cynthea Lynn Schott and Russell Scott Baird; and grandchildren Brendon Michael Baird and Alicia Lynn McDonald.

In accordance with Georgetta's wishes, cremation has taken place.
