Georgette Garvin (65) a member of the Ho-Chunk Nation, Mesquakie descendant, entered the Spirit World on Tuesday, March 24 th, 2026, at her home. Georgette was born August 3 rd, 1960, in Tama, Iowa.

Georgette was a proud mother, aunty, grandmother and true matriarch. She absolutely adored all her children, grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She had a vibrant personality and could make a room explode with laughter- she knew how to have a good time!

She loved to travel to powwows, ceremonies, and truly cherished time visiting with relatives. Georgette was often found cooking for the people she loved or giving out nicknames to countless relatives across turtle island. Georgette was as dependable as they come- often sewing, donating, or helping her relatives with celebrations, ceremonies, memorials, and special events.

Georgette is survived by her children Renelle Foote, and Garrett Garvin. Grandchildren Alexis Foote, Cameron Foote, McConnell Foote. Sisters Hazel (William) Hindsley, Joyce (Rodney Mallory) Long, Alisa Crooks. Hunka daughters Dakota Crooks, Dionne Jacobs. Hunka sons Chaske Lablanc, Galen Drapeau Jr., Tyson Merrick, Dylan Jennings, Dan Jones, Joe Rainey Sr., Russ Youngbird. Hunka Grandchildren: Dreamma Crooks, Reuben Crowfeather Jr. Special relatives Anita Campbell, Susan Brewer, Nick Brewer, Chadwick Redelk, Christina Hart, Kenora Crowfeather, KC Crooks, Amber Megenhauser. She is also survived by so many special nieces and nephews- too many to name. She was preceded in death by her sons McAllen Garvin, Patrick Foote. Special friends; Mike Alan, Louie Foote.
