Georgia Carol Nuetzel

Georgia Carol Nuetzel, 78, passed away on August 25, 2025. Born June 14, 1947, in San Diego, California, to the late Edgar T. Henry and Betty Jean Helenick. She grew up in California and graduated from Pasadena High School. She later made Arkansas her home in the early 1970s. She later earned a degree from Mississippi County Community College in Blytheville, Arkansas. She met her husband Samuel Coleman Person while employed in the Civil Service and raised their children in Gosnell, Arkansas. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Blytheville where she helped with Sunday school for preschoolers and fundraising. She was employed at Eaker Air Force Base until its closure at which time she went to work in payroll and accounting at Viskase Corporation in Osceola, Arkansas, until she retired. In 2012, she married her late husband, John Nuetzel and enjoyed acting in plays, editing books, reading, and learning to play music. In 2017, she moved to Tennessee to be closer to her children and began attending St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. She then began appearing as an extra in tv shows, was a tour guide dressed in period costumes at the Hermitage, and continued her love of music, history, dancing and enjoying time on the lake. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Mazie I. Henry, and brothers Edgar (Yuko) Henry and B. Derek (Deb) Henry. She is survived by her children, Elaine (Doug) Brewer and Bryn Person of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; sisters Cindy (Terry) Clark of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Rosana (Maury) Loket of Maumelle, Arkansas; brother Troy of California; and her beloved grandchildren, Hayden Staton of Rogers, Arkansas, Grant Staton of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Quinn Person of Mount Juliet, Tennessee. Georgia was a breast and lung cancer survivor. She was feisty, funny, and never met a stranger. She had many friends and loved ones and will be missed dearly. A memorial service will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Georgia's life. In her memory, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Tennessee Oncology. Her love and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
