Georgia Beatrice was born on January 21, 1937 (per Legal documentation), however her actual birth year is 1934. She is 91 years old, born in Waynesboro, Mississippi to the late George Cooley and Beatrice Jones Cooley.

Georgia was the oldest child of Beatrice's eight children. She was affectionately known as "Georgia B". Georgia lived with and was raised by her grandparents K. C. and Lottie Jones in a Christian household full of love and affection. During her early childhood, she believed her grandparents were her mother and father until the age of 10 years old when she learned that George and Beatrice were her biological father and mother.

Georgia remained in Waynesboro, Mississippi with her grandparents until her marriage to Willie Earl Knox Sr. Before long, she and Willie moved from Waynesboro, Mississippi to live in Butler, Alabama. Shortly thereafter, they finally relocated to Miami, Florida. Of this union, eight kids were born: Bettie Jo, Willie Jr., James, Mary, Melvin, Brenda, Loretta, and Deborah.

Georgia loved the Lord. She was a loving, dedicated, and devoted mother who adored and cherishes her 11 children, raising them with a spiritual background. She was thoughtful and a giving person, who supported and provided for her entire family with her unselfish sacrifice, focusing on their success.

She loved to dress wearing the sharpest attire, and loved the color green. She loved to decorate and maintain an immaculate home with beautiful décor and furniture.

Keeping her family close together was naturally special, aided as an impeccable and overall, all around outstanding seasoned cook. She would host family gatherings just like the movie "Soul Food", especially during the various holiday seasons, which we all enjoyed and looked forward to.

During her childhood, Georgia attended Mississippi Frost Bridge County public schools. After moving to Miami, Florida, she worked as a secretary for a local medical doctor, Robert Oliver. She later attended nursing school at Miami Dade Community College and completed the State of Florida Board of Nursing examination to receive her nursing certification and licensing. She then began her nursing career working at Coral Gables Convalescent Nursing Home as a nursing assistant for a few years. Later, she was employed by Baptist Hospital, working as a License Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for a number of years. Then, she was subsequently promoted as a Cardio-Vascular Technician and a Supervisor in the EKG Department for over 38 years until she retired in 2003, where she enjoyed the fruits of her labor and her life to the fullest.
