Georgia Karen (Petri) Weiss, a beloved mother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on December 19, 1943, in Buffalo, NY, she lived a life rich with love, laughter and a profound sense of community.

Georgia was a resident of Baldwinsville, NY for 45 years and her husband, Paul, was her high school sweetheart. She partnered with him at the Paul T. Weiss Agency as an associate agent with Nationwide Insurance, where her warm spirit and friendly smile touched the lives of many. Upon retirement in 2013, Georgia and Paul moved to Raleigh, NC to be closer to other family. They were married for 49 years when Paul passed; he was the love of her life, and she was his.

Georgia's family meant everything to her. She is survived by her daughter Caryn Schrader and her son David Weiss, son-in-law David Schrader, and daughter-in-law Jennifer Weiss; her beloved granddaughters Loren and Hannah Weiss and her step-grandchildren Olivia Popovich and Jackson and Ben D'Ambra. She is also survived by her loving siblings, brother Daniel Petri, sisters Sharon Leppert and Linda Duch along with their families; she was preceded in death by her father George and her mother Sophia Petri.

An active member of her community, Georgia was a communicant at St. Augustine's Church and St. Mary's of the Assumption Church in Baldwinsville, NY. She offered her time and talent as a CCD teacher, a member of Parish Council, served on the building committee and was a co-chair of the Heritage campaign. After moving to Raleigh, she joined St. Francis of Assisi Church where she developed friendships and impacted many fellow parishioners. She was a proud supporter of Syracuse University and the Buffalo Bills football teams.

Georgia was a vibrant woman who cherished life and creativity. Her passion for boating led to many joyful days spent on the water with family and friends. Her spirit flourished through the calming arts of painting, particularly her whimsical wooden spoons, as well as knitting and crocheting. She loved spending her time reading, diving into classic movies, and challenging herself with crossword puzzles.

Georgia was also known for her love of antiquing, visiting museums and plays and gathering with her friends and family for spirited card games. Her interest in family history and her skill in scrapbooking allowed her to preserve cherished memories for her family. Her culinary skills shone brightly during family celebrations; she loved to entertain; she was an incredible hostess and enjoyed sharing traditions.

A celebration of Georgia's life will take place on October 24, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a public visitation at Falardeau Funeral Home in Baldwinsville, NY. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church on October 25, 2025, at 10:00 am with entombment to follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Catholic Charities of Onondaga County, 1654 W. Onondaga St., Syracuse, NY 13204 or Hospice of Central New York, 990 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.

In her passing, Georgia leaves behind not only a loving family but also a legacy of faith, thoughtfulness, creativity, and a zest for life that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
