Georgie Anne Wickwire, 95 of Chanute, Kansas, passed away on August 24, 2025, at Diversicare of Chanute.

She was born on January 20, 1930, in the small town of Mulberry, Kansas, to Carl Thomas Spurling and Verfie (Byrle) Spurling, but she spent her formative years in Earlton, Kansas, and developed a vibrant spirit that would carry her through life.

Georgie was a woman of many interests and talents. She found joy in fishing, cooking, cultivating her love for antiques, and the delicate art of embroidery, and had a deep love for her dogs. These things not only brought her happiness but also allowed her to share her creativity, love, and passion with her family and friends.

Her proudest accomplishments were rooted in her unwavering work ethic. Georgie owned and managed numerous restaurants and lounges in Odessa, Texas. Her love for God and her country was truly important to her. Georgie was a hard worker who truly enjoyed life, and she instilled these values in those around her.

She is survived by her two daughters, Martha Sevedge and Helen Savidge, both of Chanute, Kansas, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Georgie is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Wesley.

Memorials are suggested to the funeral home for funeral expenses.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Westview Baptist Church, Chanute, Kansas, Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will take place at Earlton Cemetery. Earlton, Kansas.

Services are under the personal care of Wickham Family Funeral Home, 500 North Forest Avenue, Chanute, Kansas.
