Gerald T. Abban

Gerald T. Abban, 79, of Hanover, passed away on August 23, 2021. Born in Boston, on December 15, 1941, he was the son of the late Andrew and Christina (Butler) Abban. Gerald served in the United States Army and was a Boston Police Officer for 37 years, retiring as a Sergeant. He was a member of the Boston Patrolmen's Union. Gerald enjoyed the outdoors, attending sporting events and activities, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and dogs. Gerald was the beloved husband of Janet H. (Condon) Abban of Hanover. He was the devoted father of Jean M. Pillard and her husband Jay of Pembroke, James J. Abban and his wife Julie of Pembroke, Gerald T. Abban and his wife Heather of Duxbury, and Jonathan A. Abban and his wife Deborah of Pembroke. Dear brother of David Abban of Boston, the late Anthony Abban, Joseph Abban, Mary A. Nawn, and Paul Abban. He was the cherished grandfather of Jared, Olivia, Grady, Jillian, Ayla, Brendan, Katelyn, Jayme, and Jonathan. Gerald also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 pm at the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington Street, Route 53, Hanover. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am at St. Mary's Church, 392 Hanover St., Route 139, Hanover. Burial to follow at Hanover Center Cemetery.
