Born on August 17, 1938, in the quaint town of New Albany, Mississippi, Gerald was the cherished son of Cullens Armstrong and Stella (Darling) Armstrong. His journey through life was marked by unwavering devotion, selfless service, and a spirit that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Gerald was blessed with a loving and supportive family when he married his soulmate, Sue Armstrong. Together, they celebrated 65 beautiful years of marriage, defined by enduring love, mutual respect, and countless shared memories. Their union was a testament to their unwavering commitment to each other and served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Educated with an Associate's Degree, Gerald found his calling in retail management and therapeutic foster parenting. Through his career, he showcased a remarkable blend of leadership and compassion. His commitment to making a difference was evident in every endeavor he undertook, reflecting his genuine passion for helping others.
A man of deep faith, Gerald was an ordained Deacon and a dedicated member of the Ocala Springs Baptist Church community. His rich baritone voice resonated through the church halls as he sang in music programs at several different churches, uplifting spirits with every note. His faith was not just a part of him; it was a guiding light that shone brightly, leaving a lasting impact on those around him.
Gerald's legacy lives on through his devoted family. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Armstrong, his two sons, Gerald Armstrong Jr. and David Armstrong, and his cherished grandchildren, Cody Armstrong, Lane Armstrong, and Charli Armstrong.
