Gerald E. Auble, 89, of Fort Myers, Florida and Wellington, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.
Born on November 1, 1934, in Spencer, Ohio, Gerald lived most of his life in Wellington. He was a tool & die maker and shop foreman for Sectional Tool & Die Company of Wellington. In 1976, he became one of four owners of the company. He enjoyed a long retirement and retained the friendships of many of his coworkers. Gerald enjoyed all wildlife animals and domesticated pets. He felt strongly against the mistreatment of both. He was very proud to be an American and loved the USA. He was a generous man with exceptional work ethic, which allowed him to help all of his children get their start in life. He was always willing to lend a hand and help his friends with many projects.
Gerald is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Judie (nee Smith), four children, Dan (Kathy), Gerrie Ann Rowland (Bryon), Susan German (Jeff) and Doug (Dawn), nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lillian, his step-father Harold (Lester) Funk and brother Delbert.
Mr. Auble will be laid to rest in a private family service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Northeast Ohio SPCA, 9555 Brookpark Rd, Parma, OH 44129. Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, Wellington is honored to serve the Auble family and online condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.norton-eastmanfuneralhome.com
