Gerald W. Bentz

Gerald "Jerry" W. Bentz of Cincinnati. Beloved husband of 67 years to Ellen Bentz. Loving father of Judy (Dave) Hirsch, Gary J. (Beverly) Bentz, Gail (Bryan) James, the late Gerald "Jerry" W. Bentz, II, and the late Jimmy Bentz. Proud grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Passed away June 3, 2013 at age 88. As a World War II Army Veteran, he served in the South Pacific where he was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He retired after 30 years at Western Southern Life Insurance as a district manager. He loved God, loved family, and loved life. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and loved to play golf and travel with his family. Family and friends will be received from 9:30-11 AM on Thursday, June 6 at St. Saviour Catholic Church, 4136 Myrtle Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45236, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.
