Gerald McKinley Bryant, age 73 years, of Marshes Siding, Kentucky died Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at his home.
He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on September 5, 1950 the son of Billy and Mary (Vanover) Bryant. Gerald was a retired mechanic from the McCreary County School Bus Garage and a member of the Whitley City Church of God. Hunting, fishing, attending gospel concerts, dirt track racing, flea markets and auctions were his favorite hobbies.
His parents; wife Anna Ruth (Chesnut) Bryant; son Jerry Pennington; brothers, Bob Bryant, Sam Bryant, Billy Dean Bryant, and Eugene Bryant; and sisters, Linda Lafavers, Ruth Lay, Erma Jarrett, Sue Tapley, Geraldine Morris, and Maxine Hicks precede him in death.
Survivors include his sons, Jospeh Pennington (Sybil) of Athens Georgia and Gerald Lee Bryant (Brenda) of Marshes Siding, Kentucky; daughters, Jennifer Hamlin (Shannon) of Whitley City, Kentucky and Ruth Ridener of Somerset, Kentucky; brothers, Lloyd Bryant of Avon, Florida and Jay Bryant of Whitley City, Kentucky; daughter-in-law, Libby Pennington of Stearns, Kentucky; grandchildren, April Ridener, Jacob Ridener, Michael Ridener, Lauren King, Lyndsey Pennington, Grace Bryant Chapman, Emily Bryant, and Amber Bryant; great grandchildren, Colton Ridener, Kyra Ridener, Leticia Enriquez, Juana Enriquez, Eli Jerry King, and 1 Chapman baby on the way; and special friend, Wayne Strunk.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Friday, September 15, 2023 at the Whitley City Church of God with Bro. Bruce Dixon and Bro. Josh Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitley City Church of God Cemetery. The family receive friends after 12pm Friday at the Church.
