Gerald "Jerry" Campbell Sr., 88, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025 at the Heritage Center.
Jerry was born in Haubstadt, Indiana on September 10, 1937 to the late Edwin and Lydia (Ratcliffe) Campbell. He graduated in a class of 17 people from Haubstadt High School. Jerry retired from Whirlpool after 43 years of service. He was an avid IU basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. Jerry enjoyed watching auto racing, camping, and bowling. He was an animal lover, and especially adored dogs. Jerry will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Jerry is survived by his son, Gerald "Jerry" Campbell Jr. (Paula); sister, Edwina Saddler (Larry; grandchildren, Gerald Campbell III, Katharyn Underhill (Adam), Timothy Campbell, Jeffery Campbell (Amy), Kyle Campbell (Melissa), Ryan Campbell (Courtney), Tiana Smith, and Camille Wiggans; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Diane (Scheneman) Campbell; sons, James Campbell and Michael Campbell; grandson, Kristopher Campbell; aunt and uncle who raised him after the tragic passing of his parents, Namoi and Frank Macken; sisters, Delores Elmeier and Dorothy McCuston; and brother, Jim Campbell.
A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711, with Rev. Dr. Larry Lewis officiating. Entombment will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Browning Funeral Home and again from 9:00 am until service time on Wednesday.
