Gerald Clark Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Henderson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. - Springfield on Jan. 20, 2026.
Gerald M. Clark, of 1070 Luther Road, East Greenbush, New York, departed this life on December 19, 2025. He was 77 years young.

Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, Gerald was one of five children born to the late Samuel M. Clark and Lottie M. Clark. Gerald was raised in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he attended Commerce High School.

After completing his early education, Gerald moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he attended Wayne State University. He was employed by General Motors in Detroit, Michigan and later worked for the State of Michigan for a period of time.

However, Gerald's first and greatest love was always music. From his youth, he was deeply drawn to music, which ultimately led him to Detroit because of his passion for the Motown music industry. In time, the door opened for him to work in the music world, and he became a booking agent for renowned entertainers such as B.B. King and Etta James, and many other notable artists.

In later years, Gerald generously volunteered his time to bring joy to many elderly residents at Evergreen Commons Health Facility in New York through his dedicated music outreach, sharing selections from his vast library of hundreds of CD's and gladly playing any song they requested. He will be fondly remembered for his passion for music, his love for people, and the happiness he brought to others through his music.

Gerald will be truly missed by his siblings: Vincent Clark, Curtis Clark, and Vanessa Clark, all of Springfield, Massachusetts, and Marcia (Clark) McKenzie, of Bloomfield, Connecticut, along with many nieces and nephews, and extended family members, and friends.
