Jerry Crawmer was one of several of my heroes in the Welding Dept. in Bldg. 55 (I think it was 55) in Schenectady.
You could not find a nicer guy, more of a gentleman, than Jerry.
Such deep experience with welding and PWHT of ferritic alloy steels and castings.
At the annual AWS welding shows I would meet up with Jerry: he was always at the Wed. AM prayer breakfasts, and when possible, we would go for a steak dinner sometimes. I never knew he was in the army, he never mentioned it. He not an egoist, he was quiet.
So he retired in 2002, that makes sense. I didn't know that but around that time I recall he wasn't around anymore. That old guard from the welding dept. in GE Schenectady were all in this age group, they all disappeared during that period. I was lucky to know them.
Crawmer family: your Jerry was a fine man, a fine mentor, a smart, hardworking welding engineer, a true professional, an inspiration. Be forever very proud of him. GE was lucky to have him.
RIP Jerry, you did well.

Mrs. Crawmer- It was a true pleasure working with your husband, Jerry for the past 10 years- assisting him and servicing his needs. To think that I only knew part of the great man. I too try to emulate what God has asked us to be and do. Had I known I would have attended the celebration of life mass. Again, I say please accept my sincere condolences. If you have any intermediate questions please call me again, as you have my number. Meantime I will continue to pray for him and the entire family of yours. God bless,
Tony Skrabalak
