Gerald "Ron" DeWaele

DeWaele, 'Ron' Gerald (April 11, 1961 – June 4, 2023)
It is with sadness that we the family announce the peaceful passing of our much-loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, 'Ron' Gerald DeWaele, after a courageous struggle with illness, on June 4th, 2023, at LHSC - Victoria Hospital, London, at the age of 62. Ron was born in Tillsonburg, to the late Odiel and Gabriella (Boterberg) DeWaele. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 15 years, Kate (Martens) DeWaele, of Courtland. Ron is survived by his son Jason (Kiara) DeWaele, of Belmont and their children, Avery, Liam, and Colson; stepchildren Amanda Pake, of Simcoe; Tylar (Shelby) Pake, of Delhi and their children Christopher, Landon, and Jaxon; Dylen Pake, of Delhi; Brady Pake, of Delhi. Also survived by his siblings Lillian Hudson (late Robert), Nancy Legue (Gord Groulx), Joe (Linda) DeWaele, Larry (Penny) DeWaele, as well as by his nieces, nephews, cousins and by many close friends. Ron was very handy, he was employed at Trackless Vehicles, Courtland as an industrial painter for 11 years.
Friends, neighbours, and relatives are invited to attend public visitation on Friday, June 9th, 2023, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. (service time) in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg. A funeral service to honour Ron will be held on Friday, June 9th, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, by Nancy and Gary Sheils. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
