Gerald D. Dixon, Sr, 90, of Taylor Mill, KY, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024. He was a decorated U.S. Army Veteran and Purple Heart recipient having served during the Korean War. Gerald was a retired Covington Fire Captain, serving from 1959 to 1984. He was owner & operator of G. Dixon & Associates, Inc. and was the longest-serving real estate broker in the state of Kentucky. Gerald was the developer and owner of Softball City in Taylor Mill, KY and a member of the Covington Moose Lodge #1469, American Legion Post #203 and Marshall Schildmeyer VFW Post 6095. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70+ years: Carol Jean Dixon; parents: R.D. Dixon and Jewell Gill and brothers: Warren Dixon, Dale Dixon and Don Dixon. Gerald is survived by his children: Rob (Debi) Dixon, Jr., Gary Dixon, Greg (Vicki) Dixon, Beverly (Kevin) Turner and Geoff (Peggy) Dixon; siblings: Gene Dixon, Richard Dixon, Sandra (Steven) Maxwell and Barbara Ann Dixon; 15 grandchildren and numerous living and late great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. A Celebration of Gerald's Life will take place on Monday, August 26, 2024 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Covington Firefighters Association, 2232 Howell Street, Covington, KY 41014. Entombment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Covington (Latonia), KY is serving the family.
