Gerald Ray Dollar

Gerald Ray "The Chicken Man" Dollar, 83, of Damascus, went home to be with the Lord on June 10th, 2025. He was born on August 1st, 1941, to the late Floy and Garner Dollar. Gerald was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Damascus.
He was a man of many talents. He did work as a drape hanger, butcher, and his favorite was peddling. In his younger days, he loved participating in chuck wagon races with his friends. Gerald traveled all over multiple states to take part in the races. He loved to spend most of his days outside enjoying the sunshine. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Gerald Dollar was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie Dollar, of 60 years. He leaves behind one son, Todd Dollar, and one daughter, Jan Welsh (Frank), three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, relatives, and numerous friends.
Visitation will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, on June 13, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Damascus, with the funeral service following at 11:00 am, with Pastor Daniel Williams officiating. Interment will be at Fowler Cemetery in Damascus.
Pallbearers will be Luke Dollar, Frank Welsh, Matthew Carpenter, Tyler Magie, Ralph Webb, and Johnny Winfrey.
