Gerald Vigneault Obituary

Gerald E. "Gerry" Vigneault, 95, of Abbeville, SC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, in Greenwood, SC.

He was born in Manchester, NH, to Alphonse Henri Joseph and Antoinette (Trudel) Vigneault. He is a graduate of West High School and later earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Saint Anselm College. Gerry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he was stationed at Fort Dix, New Jersey.

He enjoyed a distinguished 40+ year career as a Quality Control Engineer for the T700 Engine at General Electric (Riverworks) in Lynn, Massachusetts. His expertise took him to various GE locations across the country, where he served as a trusted troubleshooter. Outside of work, Gerry was an avid sailor who cherished time on the water and owned several sailboats. He and his family spent many summers at their cabin on Lake Merrymeeting, New Durham, NH. He took his family on memorable cross-country camping adventures. Gerry was a dedicated assistant leader of Boy Scout Troop 9, where both his sons were scouts. He was also a parishioner and long-time lector at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Peabody, MA. Over the years, Gerry and his family lived in Peabody, Boxford, and eventually retired to live full-time with his wife on Lake Merrymeeting. He later moved to Abbeville, SC, bought a small farm, and raised goats and donkeys until his passing.

Gerry was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Constance "Connie" Ida Beaudet of Manchester, NH; his brother-in-law Robert Beaudet of Manchester, NH; his sisters Lorette Simonne (Vigneault) Proulx, Grace Irma (Vigneault) LeBlanc, and Claire Jeanne (Vigneault) Cheney; and his brother Paul Arthur Vigneault.

He is survived by his three children: Denis Vigneault and his wife Luz Maria (Bencosme) Vigneault of Salem, MA, and his former wife Pat (Quinlan) Vigneault and their children Alyssa Vigneault and Philip Vigneault, along with Philip's wife Tamara and their daughter Harper Vigneault; Robert Vigneault and his wife Eva (Alvarez) Vigneault of Cape Coral, FL, and their daughter Chloe Marie Vigneault; and Janet (Vigneault) Reardon of Greenwood, SC, and her children Will Reardon and his daughter Alana Reardon, Heather Reardon and Andrea Reardon and her daughters Raina and Syani Reardon. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Georgette (Gosselin) Beaudet of Manchester, NH, as well as his many nieces, nephews, and their families.

There will be a private service in South Carolina.
