Joan Ragona Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Pedersen Ryberg Funeral Home on Mar. 18, 2024.
Joan Ragona, beloved wife of Morris (Moe) Ragona, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15th, 2024. She was 95 years old.
Joan was a devoted wife and business partner with Moe, together they built their businesses. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and sister-in-law. Joan was always there for anyone who needed her. In taking care of her family and others, her love knew no bounds.
Joan loved music. She and Moe had their girls take organ lessons for many years. She loved to sing and later enjoyed line-dancing. She loved to cook. Her pasta and meatballs are most memorable. Dinner at grandma and grandpa's house was always fun. Many people loved her fruit-cake and home-made cannoli's.
She loved to play with the kids. She played Bunco and 10,000 Dice. Grandma Joan would go to the lake and waterparks with the kids. She would let them pick clothes from her closet to play dress up. She used her fine china to have cocoa parties with her great-grandkids when they were toddlers. This earned her the cherished name, Grandma Cocoa.
Joan's Roman Catholic faith and love for the Lord was at the heart of everything she did. Her strong faith infused every aspect of her life, guiding her actions with grace and humility. She found solace and strength in her faith, and her unwavering trust in the Lord served as an inspiration to all who knew her. She spread the faith everyway she could.
Joan's zest for life and humor was infectious, and she approached each day with an enthusiasm that was truly remarkable.
Joan is survived by her loving family: daughter Judy (Glenn), grandson Glenn (Debbie), granddaughter Kelly (Kyle), grandson Dennis (Jill), and Michelle (Dan); daughter Susan (Pat), granddaughter Rachel (Matt), and grandson Patrick Randall (Sara); daughter Debra (Jeff), grandsons Keith and Steven; daughter Karen (Rich), granddaughters Jessica, Allison (Cameron), and grandson Richard; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Sue, This is JoAnn Fese (Foley) I was thinking of you this evening and saw your mom's obituary, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom last year. What a wonderful and sweet person your mom was. She made the best meatballs ever! The times I would come to your house for supper, was the best times as a child. I am sure she is truly loved and missed by so many. She was blessed with an amazing family. I hope you and your family are well.
