Gerald "Jerry" English, age 85, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025 in the Good Shepherd Home in Ashland. Jerry was born on December 30, 1939 in Jackson, Michigan to the late Richard & Doris Burns English.

He served with the US Coast Guard for 11 years. Jerry loved music and he loved to sing. He was a member of the Mansfield Choral Society and sang in the church choir for many years. Jerry was an active member at Linden Road Presbyterian Church where he served on several committees.

Jerry also enjoyed reading books from time to time. He really enjoyed watching movies, TV series, game shows, and of course sports i.e....Browns and Guardians. Jerry also enjoyed playing board games with his family at family get-togethers.

Gerald "Jerry" is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Moser English; daughter, Carolyn (Kevin) Carr of Columbus, OH; son, Sean (Rebecca) English of Lexington, OH, and son Daniel (Carrie) English of Mansfield, OH. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren Elizabeth English, Liam, Benjamin, Nicholas Carr, Bree (Nick) Hopek, Ander Wolfe, Owen, Avery, and Olivia English as well as great-grandchildren, Caspian and Novalie. He was preceded in death by many family members and friends.

The family of Jerry would like to thank the staff at the Good Shepherd Home for the care they provided. The family would also like to give a special thank you to the team at Southern Care Hospice for all the patience, compassion, and support that was given to Jerry.

There will be an open house from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 4, 2025 for friends and family to share good memories and celebrate Jerry's life. For more detailed information about the open house please reach out to a family member.
