Gerald Farr Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 12, 2024.
Gerald (Jerry) Farr, 80, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Bellin hospital with his family by his side. The son of Chester and Theresa (Reinhard) Farr, Jerry was born on October 22, 1943 and was a lifelong resident of the village of Howard.
Jerry was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Parish. He graduated from Green Bay East HS in 1961 and went on to get his Accounting degree from Green Bay Vocational Tech School. He started his career at Morning Glory Dairy and then owned and operated his wholesale confectionary business, Nuts To You From A Farr, for many years. Jerry finished his career by co-owning and managing Farr's Grove.
He loved the service industry and excelled at turning his customers into his friends. His infectious smile, jovial laugh and caring personality were simply unbeatable. It was a sad day when Jerry and Dea decided to turn the lights off for good at Farr's in May 2018. People are still searching for their next favorite Fish Fry, and while there are many good establishments to enjoy, they are constantly reminded that the best part about Farr's Grove was not the fish but rather the people that served them and they are reminded that God only made one Jerry Farr!
Post retirement Jerry enjoyed spending time at the cottage on Chute Pond and spending several winters in Gulf Shores, AL.
On June 5, 1965 he married Dea LeMieux at St. Joseph Catholic Church and together they raised five amazing children that he was so very proud of, Paul, Bret, Erin, Jess and Evan. They truly were the light of his life not including his first love, his 1957 Ford Thunderbird.
He is survived by his wife Dea Farr; children, Paul (Kym) Farr, Erin (Doug) Demeny, Jess (Stephanie) Farr and Evan Farr; grandchildren, Caleb, Jade, Lily, Jacob, Ivy, Noah, Taylor, Alexa, Chase, Carson, Sydney, Al and Freya; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Linda) Farr, Rick (Ellen) Farr, David Farr; his lifelong best friend and cousin Jack VandenAvond and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bret Farr; grandson Cody Farr; parents, Chester and Theresa Farr; in-laws, Harold and Irene LeMieux; brothers, Tom Farr and Ron Farr; brother-in-law, Jules LeMieux.
Jerry was truly one of a kind. While life dealt him many challenges, he always found a way to overcome them and come out on the other side stronger and happier. He was an amazing husband, father, son, brother and friend that will be impossible to replace and will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved him. Until we meet again we love you more than words can express and thank you for being our rock!
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, October 18 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave (entrance directly across from the BP gas station on Glendale Ave), with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow.
