GOODING, Gerald Mervin Gerry  Age 70, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, January 21, 2005 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Monday, January 24, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Lawrence Gill officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-9 PM Sunday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Gerald M. Gooding Memorial Fund. Gerald was born June 19, 1934 in Hartland the son of Harold L. and Genevieve B. (Fredrick) Gooding. He had resided in the Swartz Creek area most of his life. He married Marcia F. Osterman on August 31, 1978 in Las Vegas, NV. Mr. Gooding was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from G.M.A.S.A. in 1988 with 36 years of service.  Surviving are: wife, Marcia; 4 children, Kathi Riley and Greg Tomkinson of Flint, Todd and wife Jacque Gooding of Swartz Creek, Denise and husband Tim Cox of Montrose, Kim and husband Rob Dancer of South Lyon; 11 grandchildren, Travis, Marissa, Trent, Mackenzie, Michael, Brendan, Regan, Stephanie, Melissa, Stacy, and Donald; mother, Genevieve and husband Jack Frieze of Durand; brother, Vern and wife Bobbie Gooding of Farmington Hills; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold; son, Jerome; grandson, Joshua Gooding; and 3 brothers, Lawrence, Ronald and Maynard.
