Gerald Adair Grant
83 years 6 months
Gerald was born September 10, 1941 in Kansas City, Mo. He passed away March 8, 2025 in Raymore, Mo after a fall Saturday morning.
Jerry was born to William Paul and Evelyn Francis and was later adopted by his grandparents Oliver and Edna Grant of Kansas City, Mo. He attended Raytown High School and was part of the class of 1959. A strong work ethic and honest values were instilled in him as a young man. Jerry was a friend to all who passed his way and didn't know a stranger. He was a born again Christian from an early age so we know we will see him again in eternity. He met the love of his life Rachel L. Harkey and they were wed on November 18, 1960. They were married 64 years and to this union were born two children, Roger Grant and Angela Joyce. More than anything he loved his family and spending time with them.
Jerry worked for Coca Cola Bottling Co of Lenexa, Ks early in life. Then he worked for Bendix/Allied Signal in Kansas City, Mo for 24 years to retirement in 2003. He and Rachel enjoyed 22 years of retirement together traveling and just being with family whenever possible. He was a dedicated Royals/baseball fan and Chiefs fan. He was also an avid bird watcher. He was a wealth of self educated knowledge and family Jeopardy champ.
He is survived by Rachel Grant of the home. Two children, Roger Grant and wife Paula of Archie, Mo, and Angie Joyce and husband Willy of Raymore, Mo. Four grandchildren Stephen Joyce, Melody Akeson, Kyle Grant and Jacob Grant all live close by.
Services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
