Gerald "Jerry" Grzywinski, born on November 6, 1939, in Wyandotte, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, in Riverview, Michigan, at the age of 85. A man of many passions and deep family ties, Jerry will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Jerry was born and raised in Wyandotte, Michigan. Growing up, Jerry worked at the hardware store, while going to school at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, and delivering The Wyandotte News-Herald. He proudly served in the Navy Reserves on Grosse Ile and had aquired a Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Michigan Dearborn before he chose to a pursue a career in telecommunications with AT&T for 40 years.

Jerry's heart was full of wanderlust, and he cherished traveling the world with his beloved wife, Debbie. Together, they explored the rich histories and cuisines of Europe, while also soaking in the vibrant cultures of Mexico and Hawaii. Jerry had a refined palate, delighting in fine dining experiences and a well-mixed martini. A connoisseur of life's leisurely pursuits, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of sipping Stella Artois and savoring a good cigar.

A true enthusiast of history, Jerry found joy in reading and enriching his mind especially with non-fiction books regarding WWII. His passion extended to the thrill of U of M football games and solving puzzles, whether through board games, solitaire, or his favorite shows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and had a great passion of model railroads in which he built one of his own.

Family was the cornerstone of Jerry's life. He shared a remarkable 46 years with Debbie, of which they were married for 32 cherished years. His legacy lives on through his children, Jeff (Jill) Grzywinski, Heidi (Mark) Collins, and Jennifer (Pete) Witt, as well as his adored grandchildren, Jeffrey, Julia (Connor), Seth (Alyssa), and Alea. He was also blessed with a great grandchild, Savannah, who brought him immense joy. Alea will always hold dear the love she felt from her papa. Jerry will also be missed by numberous brother and sister-in-laws.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Victor Grzywinski and Mary Groat, and his sisters, Joan Hinton and Maryann Gribbon. He is survived by his brother, Edward (Judy) Grzywinski, and numerous nieces and nephews who knew him as a cherished uncle.
