1-31-1937 to 3-22-2023Gerald Garfield Hatton (Jerry), age 86, peacefully passed away on the evening of Wednesday, March 22, 2023. He was predeceased by his Father, Clarence Hatton and Mother, Perla Weeks. He was the last of his siblings, namely his brothers Laurie and Moses and his sisters Lorna Cameron and Meta Moquin and his son Michael Wayne Hatton. He left behind his beloved wife of 39+ years Debra (Debbie) and sons Gerald Thomas Hatton (Jr.) of Port St. John, FL; Robert Hatton (Bubba) and his wife Tracy of Savannah, GA; Edward Chester Hatton (Eddy) and his wife Marnel of South Plainfield, NJ and his daughters, Susan Geraldine Hatton and Laura Lee Crouse and her husband Brent who still reside in Nova Scotia. Jerry had 8 grand-children and 4 great grand-children and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jerry was born in Nova Scotia Canada in January 1937. He became an American Citizen in August 1972. Although he held jobs as a mechanic, parts manager and storage manager, Jerry's full time love was Traditional Country music. He began his musical career in Canada in 1958 where he released six albums and toured many of the Canadian Provinces. Then moved to the U.S. and recorded two more albums with his wife Debbie. Jerry played music events throughout the Northeast Tri-State area, Michigan, North and South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland until 2011. He had such a big heart and wonderful personality which made it easy for him to make many friends and fans.
Jerry was very loved and will be so missed. At his request, no services will be held.
