Gerald (Jerry) Raymond Heinz
Age 83, of Inver Grove Heights, MN, passed away peacefully on July 11th, 2025.
He was born January 31st, 1942, in Saint Paul, MN. He served in the US Navy and was a long-time employee at 3M. He met the love of his life, Laura, and was married for 57 years. Jerry loved riding his bike, the outdoors, and fall camping on Kawishiwi Lake. He also loved all things with wheels and kept his garage cleaner than most of our houses.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Laura Heinz; his parents, George and Esther Heinz; his brother, Ken and wife Char; and his sister, Kathy and husband Ty. He is survived by children Beth Heinz (Jim Muehlbauer), Amy Ryan (Thomas), and Scott Heinz (Angie). Grandchildren Rachel Heaton (Cory), John Ryan, Hannah Carlin, Grace Hofer (Stewart), and great-granddaughter Eleanor Heaton. Also survived by sister, Janice Blair (Tim), eleven brothers and sisters in laws and their spouses, and many nieces, nephews, loving friends, and relatives.
Funeral Service Thursday July 31 at 9:30 am Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel, 1Tower Ave., Ft. Snelling, visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the University of Minnesota Institute for Translational Neuroscience or the Alzheimer's Association.
