Walter Joseph Heinz Jr. passed away surrounded by his loved ones on 7/6/25.
He was born in Wenatchee on November 26, 1946, to Walter Heinz Sr. and Louella (Bainard) Heinz
He was married to Darlene Heinz on July 1, 1966, in Everett, WA. This year, they celebrated 59 years together. They have 3 loving children.
Walt worked for the Great Northern Railroad from 1965 to 1978 in Everett, WA. He then moved to Wenatchee, where he worked for the US Postal Service as a contractor and later for Stemilt Growers, serving as a mechanic, and retired in 2008.
Walt loved his family first and foremost, but in his spare time, he loved to go hunting and fishing with his son and grandkids, watching Seahawks and Nascar on Sundays, and those spur-of-the-moment Mill Bay trips with his daughter.
Walt was a very loving husband, dad, and papa. Dad gave a good fight right up to the end.
He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Heinz, of Wenatchee, daughter, Jodie (Don) of Moses Lake, son, John of Wenatchee, daughter, Jamie (Jeremy) of E. Wenatchee, 3 grandchildren Courtney (David), Cody (Taylor) and Dylan. 3 great grandchildren Kellen, Cooper and Easton. Walt is also survived by his sister Lorraine Martin, brother Dick (Kendice) Heinz, sister in law, Augusta Heinz, and brother in law, Dale Holzerland. and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Walt was proceeded in death by his parents Walter Heinz Sr. & Luella Heinz; sisters; Janet Hester, Lois Fortune, June Gilstrap, Judy Holzerland, Kathy Coriell, and brother Gary Heinz.
