Gerald Wayne Hicks, age 59, of Columbus, MS, passed away September 19, 2024, at his residence. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 11 A.M, at Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hicks was born November 2, 1964, in Columbus, MS, to the late Robert Lee and Margaret Helen Keasler Hicks. He was a graduate of Caldwell High School and worked for 16 years at the Columbus Brickyard as a kiln operator. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Earl Hicks, and great great niece, Emerynn Brielle Sherrod.
Survivors include his wife, Kristie Swails Hicks of Andrews, SC, step children, Luke Swails of Andrews, SC, and Josie Lockhart and her husband Gunner of Bowling Green, KY, sisters, Judith Anne Jaynes of Florence, AL, and Wanda Hamby of Columbus, MS, nieces, Kristie Baucom, Brandi Strickland and her husband Marty, and Heather Salinas and her husband Juan, nephew, Bryan Jaynes and his wife Tracie, and a host of great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
