Gerald Paul Hittesdorf

Gerald Paul Hittesdorf passed away on March 23, 2026 in Modesto, CA at the age of 86.

Gerald was born and raised in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. He and his family moved to Los Banos, CA when he was 13 years old. He graduated from Chowchilla High School in 1958 and eventually moved to Hilmar, CA. He met the love of his life, Margaret Ann Vierra, and the two married on October 7, 1961 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Los Banos, CA. This year they would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Gerald worked as a milk tester for Merced County Dairy Herd Improvement Association and retired after 47 years of service. In his free time, Gerald enjoyed drag racing, boating, and fishing. Gerald was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Delores Hittesdorf; his sisters, Gail Padilla and Beverly Ireland. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Hittesdorf; his children, Ronnie Hittesdorf, Steve Hittesdorf, and Kim Abreu; his sisters, Diane Silva and Jackie Gibbs; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held for immediate family.
