Gerald Eugene Holcomb

Gerald Eugene Holcomb, age 94 of Middleville, passed away on September 26, 2022. Gerald was born on February 23, 1928 in Grand Rapids to Gaylord and Pearl (Pierce) Holcomb. He proudly served his country in the US Army where he was a part of the Occupation Force of Japan. Gerald worked at GM for 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars, going to the lake, and spending time in Florida. He was a kind man who enjoyed helping others when he could. Most important to Gerald was his family who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce (Menardie) Holcomb; children: Steve Holcomb, Thomas (Barbara) Holcomb, Mary (Brian Hughes) Douthett; grandchildren: Ed (Julia) Rumbergs, John (Peggy) Douthett; great grandchildren: Caleb, Gemma, Eryx, Johnathan, Ethan; sister, Rose (Don) Marcott; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings. Relatives and friends may meet with Gerald's family on Friday, September 30 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Beeler-Gores Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 1 at 12 P.M. at Coman Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 45.
