Janet Dugan Obituary
Janet graduated from Griffith high school in 1953 where she met her future husband, Henry Dugan. Following their graduation in 1953 they both attended Ball State College in Muncie, IN. After graduating from Ball State Jan taught elementary and high school classes at Gobles, Portland and Middleville, MI.
Janet and Hank were married December 21st, 1959, in Griffith, IN, starting a 66 year journey together. During their marriage they had four children and adopted one. Prior to and following retirement Jan loved to travel and enjoyed long road trips. She loved the scenic west and sunny Florida. However, Jan's real motive for all of those trips really was looking for new fabric shops and buying all the material she could fit into the car!
Jan was an exceptional quilter and seamstress. She had a large group of sewing friends who she always looked forward to seeing on a regular basis. In addition to sewing Jan enjoyed viewing sports, dancing, playing golf and a variety of other activities. Most of all she loved her family with a deep passion.
Janet was preceded in death by her son, Patrick.
Janet is survived by her loving husband Henry Dugan and children: Michael (Colleen), Jim (Carolyn), Lisa and Marcus. Her grandchildren Erin, Johanna, Ryan, Caleb, Melia, Riley, Heaven, Emma and Tara. Great grandchildren Wyatt, Jemma, Keilah and Weslie.
Relatives and friends may meet with Janet's family on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Beeler Gores Funeral Home where a memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM.
Memorial contributions may be made in Janet's memory to Thornapple Manor in Hastings, Michigan. Please visit www.beelergoresfuneral.com to share a memory or leave a condolence message for Janet's family.
