Gerald “Jerry” D. Anderson, 81 of Aledo, died on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Mercy One Genesis, Aledo Campus. Memorial services will be postponed until later in December. Memorials may be made to Relay For Life of Mercer County.

Gerald Dan Anderson was born on August 3, 1944, in Muscatine, Iowa to Dan & Leona (Marple) Anderson. He was a 1962 graduate of Aledo High School. Jerry was previously married to Mary Dunn and from this union 2 children were born, Doug & Colleen.

Jerry was the owner/operator of Heck & Anderson for many years. He also worked with Dexter’s and AC McCartney before retiring. After retirement he would help with Gold Star FS in the busy seasons. In his spare time, Jerry loved to golf and had several holes in one. He was a member of Oak View Country Club and planned many trips to Florida to enjoy golfing there. He was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed going on the Cubs & Cardinal Bus Trips. In earlier years, Jerry played fast pitch softball and bowled.

Jerry was very proud of his grandchildren and never missed an event they were involved in. He planned midnight Monopoly games and challenged them to cribbage. Jerry also liked to take over Marta’s computer, and he used it to play and excel at games.

Those left to cherish Jerry’s memory include his companion of over 30 years, Marta Hanson; children and spouses: Doug & Wendy Anderson of Blue Grass, IA and Colleen & Jack Rillie of Morrison, IL; grandchildren: Hannah Rillie, Leah Anderson, Garrett Anderson; great-grandchildren: Suzy and Alice Anderson; step-children: Kammie Hillyer of Des Moines, Thomas J. Hanson of Davenport, IA: step-grandchildren: Taelar & Joe Spindler, Ashley & Bryce Stotler and Reid Hillyer & fiancé, Allison Auchbach; step-great-grandchildren: Soren & Rory Spindler and Henry Stotler; siblings and spouses: Linda Sage of Aledo, Bill & Laura Anderson of Aledo, Tim & Theresa Anderson of Viola and sister-in-law, Elsa Anderson of Minneapolis, MN.
