Gerald LaDue Obituary
A private graveside service will take place at Lancaster Memorial Park, officiated by Brent Taylor.
Born on Feb. 18, 1953, in Plattsburg, N.Y., Mr. LaDue was the son of the late Maynard Raffael LaDue and Loretta Chagnon LaDue. He dedicated his working career to mechanical manufacturing and proudly served in the military. Mr. LaDue was also a former member of Northside Baptist Church. He enjoyed all genres of music, especially classic country and rock. Known for his strong-willed and independent nature, he was regarded by many as a profoundly selfless gentleman.
In addition to his parents, Mr. LaDue was preceded in death by his sister, Mona Silver; his brother, Francis LaDue; and his pride and joy, his beloved dog "Cuddles."
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 41 years, Karen T. LaDue; his children, Rebecca (David) Calabris of Denver, N.C., Andrew LaDue of Lancaster, S.C., Alice (George) Knight, and John LaDue Jr.; his stepson, Johnny Pyatt; and numerous grandchildren including Madison McManus, Andrew LaDue Jr., and Emily LaDue; numerous great-grandchildren including Grace Vedder. Additionally, he leaves behind his siblings: Lorena, Pam, Mary, Susie, Tammy, Maynard Jr., and Jimmy, along with numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved pet, "Peanut."
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to his special caregiver and granddaughter, Madison, as well as home health nurse Mark and the entire staff of SC House Calls for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a humane society or charity of one's choice.
