Gerald "Jerry" Katz
Beloved husband of Joann (nee Hentz) Katz. Loving father of Lara (nee Katz) Shebesta, Deanna (nee Katz) Murcko and Jerry Katz Jr. Dear grandfather of Kaitlyn, Brett, Jerry, Tommy, Nick and Ava. Son of the late Dorothy Spicer.
Jerry was fiercely devoted to his family, especially Joann, his wife of 65 years. He epitomized the words unconditional love. He loved all animals and forms of life, from dogs and cats down to the smallest bug. He enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, and gambling. His work ethic was second to none and he was the first in his family to attend college, where he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati in chemical engineering and then a master's degree in business administration from Xavier University. After some years in corporate America, he followed his passion for entrepreneurship. He started several successful companies and was an incredible mentor and inspiration to his children as they started theirs. He loved to travel, experience other cultures, and see the world. His big personality could truly light up a room, and he loved nothing more than making people laugh and smile.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows, on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 9:30 AM until 12PM. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow. Burial will be privately held at Mother of God Cemetery in Latonia, KY.
